Eggesford

Eggesford is a hamlet in Devon, in the wooded Taw Valley and 2 miles from Chumleigh.

The isolated parish church is built of the local stone.

Eggesford Station was built when the railway line (now known as the Tarka Laine) was opened in 1854. The landowner stipulated as a condition that all trains must stop there, and this still holds good.

Eggesford Country Centre offers riverside and woodland trails.

The Fox and Hounds hotel has very pleasant gardens.
