Holland House (Kingsgate)

Holland House is a historic house at Kingsgate, on the Isle of Thanet in Kent.

Near the cliffs of the North Foreland, Holland House was built for Lord Holland, father of the renowned politician Charles James Fox, in the 18th century. Having had the house built for himself, he surrounded it with an extraordinary collection of follies, some of which survive today.

Although Robert Adam was available, Lord Holland employed the then little known architect Thomas Wynne, and it was constructed in 1762 - 68.

It has a six columned Doric portico.
