Priory Park (Chichester)

Priory Park is a very pleasant park in the ancient cathedral city of Chichester.

Close to the present City Centre, it is enclosed on two sides by the City Walls, with their walkway.

Within the park is the mound of Chichester Castle, constructed in the Norman period by Roger de Montgomery.

Also within the park is the church of the Grey Friars. This later became the Guildhall and was the scene of William Blake`s trial for sedition in 1804, after he ordered a soldier out of his garden.
