Windsor and Eton Central Station (Windsor)

Windsor and Eton Central Station is one of the two railway stations that serve the historic old town of Windsor, and of course Eton on the other side of the River Thames.

The other station is Windsor and Eton Riverside.

The station is centrally placed, just off the main street, and is the second station on the site.

It was built in 1897, and has a large entrance hall, suitable for use by Queen Victoria when visiting Windsor Castle. This is now the shopping centre known as Windsor Royal Shopping, which also includes the Tourist Information Centre.

The station is linked by a footbridge to the busy coach park.

Windsor and Eton Central is the terminus of a branch line from Slough, and arrives in the town on a long curved viaduct.
