St. Swithun`s Church (Winchester)
St. Swithun`s Church is a tiny place of worship in the ancient cathedral city of Winchester.
Probably uniquely, the church occupies the space above one of the city gates, in this case the 14th century Kingsgate.
The church, which is still used for worship, is reached by a stone staircase from beside the arch.
St. Swithun was a much loved Bishop of Winchester.
