City Mill (Winchester)

The City Mill is one of the many interesting features of the ancient cathedral city of Winchester.

It is one of several watermills that were at one time situated along the River Itchen in and around the city, and is close to Soke Bridge, which carries the main street across the river.

The mill was built in 1744, and the wheel was restored in 1995.

It is now owned by the National Trust, and can be visited by the public, along with its attractive garden, with views of the mill race.

Part of the property is used as a Youth Hostel.
