St. James` Church (Sutton Cheney)

St. James` Church is the parish church of the Leicestershire village of Sutton Cheney.

It is mainly 14th century, but has a 13th century arcade.

The West tower is quite short, and has a brick upper stage.

There are 18th century box pews.

It was at this church that Richard III heard mass before the fatal Battle of Bosworth in 1485.
