Dolphin Yard Sailing Barge Museum (Sittingbourne)

The Dolphin Yard Sailing Barge Museum is a fascinating attraction at Sittingbourne in Kent.

It is situated off Crown Quay Lane, on the banks of Milton Creek.

The museum is based in the former Burley`s Barge forge and sail loft.

It is devoted to the history of the wonderful vessels known as Thames barges, and is also where these boats are brought in for repair, before being put to use again in places such as Maldon.

A permanent sight is the "Cambria", built in 1906 and the last sailing vessel to trade under the British flag.
