St. Giles and St. Nicholas Church (Sidmouth)

St. Giles and St. Nicholas Church is the parish church of the delightful seaside town of Sidmouth in Devon.

It is situated in Church Street in the town centre, not far from the seafront.

In the Lady Chapel there is a window with a piece of glass dating from about 1450, and depicting the Five Wounds of Christ in red glass, each being surounded by a golden crown.

The West window depicts St. Nicholas. It was given by Queen Victoria, whose father, the Duke of Kent, died at Sidmouth in 1820, when she was a baby
