Ecclesall Woods (Sheffield)

Ecclesall Woods are an ancient woodland at Sheffield.

The main entrance is in Abbeydale Road South.

The woods cover 334 acres, and are the largest semi-natural area of woodland in South Yorkshire.

Included in the woodland area are prehistoric and early historic monuments, and Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet, which was producing agricultural tools over 300 years ago, and which houses the only crucible steel furnace in the world that is still complete.
