78 Derngate is a most interesting house in Northampton.
What was a typical terraced house in Derngate was transformed in 1917 by the brilliant Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Scottish architect, artist and designer, into a startlingly modern home.
It was Mackintosh`s last major comission and his only work in England.
His interiors have been restored to their appearance in 1917.
