Leazes Park (Newcastle-upon-Tyne)

Leazes Park is an urban park at Error with link.

The main entrance is in Richardson Road.

Three thousand working men petitioned Newcastle Council for a park in 1857. This was taken up by Alderman Hammond and Alderman Harle, and eventually this site was settled on, using part of the Leazes Town Moor. It opened in 1873.

The park centres on the lake which was created on the line of the Lort Burn.
