Bessie Surtees House (Newcastle-upon-Tyne)

Bessie Surtees House is a historic site in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

It is situated in Sandhill.

The site consists of two merchants` houses, dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, standing on the quayside, close to the Tyne Bridge.

One of the houses is a rare example of Jacobean domestic architecture, and has three rooms which are open.

Bessis Surtees House is in the care of English Heritage.
