Chillington Manor (Maidstone)

Chillington Manor is an Elizabethan house in Maidstone, converted to a museum.

It is situated in St. Faith`s Street.

The house was built in 1561 for the local MP, Nicholas Barham. The street frontage is of brick, and there is a surviving Great Hall on the ground floor.

The staircase and a chimneypiece in the Great Chamber are Jacobean, and there is a group of waxworks.
