Lord Chancellor`s Residence (London)
The Lord Chancellor`s Residence is an interesting apartment in London.
It is a part of the Palace of Westminster.
After the fire in the Palace - the Houses of Parliament - in 1834, only the Great Hall survived, and the rest was rebuilt by Sir Charles Barry and Augustus Pugin.
The new building contained only one apartment, that of the Speaker. However, in 1923 this new apartment was created for the Lord Chancellor, in a corner behind the Victoria Tower.
It is sumptuously furnished.
