All Saints Margaret Street (London)

All Saints Margaret Street is a famous Victorian church in London.

It is situated in Margaret Street, two streets to the North of Oxford Street.

The church was built in 1849 to 1859, on the site of an earlier chapel. The architect was William Butterfield, and it cost £70,000, at the time a staggering sum, making it the most expensive Anglican church of the 19th century.

It has a tower and a very tall spire.

There is much decoration inside All Saints, some of it by Ninian Comper..
