Leiston Abbey (Leiston)

Leiston Abbey is an important site close to Leiston in Suffolk.

It was a house for Praemonstratensian canons, founded in the 14th century.

Today the extensive site is in ruins, but has a restored chapel, and is in the care of English Heritage.

Part of the site became a Diocesan retreat in 1953.
