Penny`s Hospital Almshouses (Lancaster)
Penny`s Hospital Almshouses are a historic feature of Lancaster.
The almshouses are situated in King Street, opposite the indoor market.
They were founded by William Penny in 1720 for twelve old people, with a chapel at the end of a courtyard.
In 1974, they were restored and modernised, and now serve their original purpose again.
