Lancaster Station (Lancaster)

Lancaster Station serves the thriving city of Lancaster.

It was originally named Lancaster Castle, and opened in 1846, below Lancaster Castle and Lancaster Priory.

Trains from Euston Station in London run via Preston, and continue Northwards to Carlisle, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

A branch line runs to the nearby seaside resort of Morecambe.

Another branch ran to Glasson.

There was formerly anoher station named Green Ayre, which opened in 1848 and closed in 1966. From here trains ran to Morecambe, Heysham and Settle.
