St. Anne`s Church (Kew)

St. Anne`s Church is an interesting church at Kew in West London.

It is situated on Kew Green.

The original church was built in 1714 to honour Queen Anne, who died in that year.

But under the Hanoverian kings, Kew began to be more and more a centre of Royal and court life, and the church was expanded a number of times, under George II, George III and William IV.

Thomas Gainsborough is buried here.
