St. Etheldreda`s Church (Hatfield)

St. Etheldreda`s Church is the parish church of Hatfield in Hertfordshire.

It stands close up against the walls of the magnificent Hatfield House, at the end of a charming street of red brick houses.

The church dates bak to the 13th century, although it was extended in the 17th century by Robert Cecil and partly rebuilt in the Victorian period.

There are two chapels, containing a wealth of memorials to the Cecil and Brocket families.

The wonderful iron gates to the churchyard came from St. Pauls Cathedral.
