Holy Trinity Church (Halstead)

Holy Trinity is a church in the Essex market town of Halstead, built in the 19th century when the population was growing and the mediaeval St. Andrews Church was no longer sufficient.

It stands on the South side of the River Colne, the original town having been on the North side.

Holy Trinity was designed by George Gilbert Scott and built in 1844, of flint with white brick quoins.

It is an attractive church with a pretty broach spire. The original spire fell down soon after it was built, and was replaced by Scott the following year.
