The Cross (Gloucester)

The Cross is an important central location in the ancient cathedral city of Gloucester.

It was the point where the four main streets of Roman Gloucester met, and this still apllies today, the four streets being Northgate Street, Eastgate Street, Southgate Street and Westgate Street.

There were formerly four churches grouped around the Cross, but the only survivor today is the tower of St. Michael`s Church.
