St. Agatha`s Church (Easby)

St. Agatha`s Church is a historic little church at Easby in Yorkshire, close to the ancient town of Richmond.

It stands beside the ruins of Easby Abbey.

The church is basically Norman, with a tall and narrow nave.

In the chancel is a copy of the Easby cross. The original dates back to about 800, and is at present in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. It includes the busts of saints in attendance on Christ.

There are also 13th century murals, featuring Old Testament scenes on the North wall and New Testament on the South.

The font is Norman.
