Bull and Swan (Diseworth)

The Bull and Swan is a public house in the centre of the village of Diseworth.

Diseworth itself is a fascinating, ancient and sleepy village in the North of Leicestershire, close to East Midlands Airport.

The pub is situated at the corner of Grimes Gate and Clements Gate, close to St. Michael and All Angels Church and Lilly’s Cottage.

Actually a timber framed building covered in later additions, the pub was originally known as the Bull’s Head. However, a calendar was published some years ago which clearly showed the Bull’s Head, but with a sign showing it as the Swan. The brewers decided to combine the names as Bull and Swan.

The Bull and Swan is one of only two pubs in Diseworth.

It is outside the Bull and Swan that Colin Crosby’s Guided Walks in Diseworth start.
