John Rose Building (Coalport)
The John Rose Building is an interesting industrial building at Coalport in Shropshire.
It is situated in the High Street.
The building consists of a range of china painting workshops, the centre part dating from the 18th century and the outer wings rebuilt in the dearly 20th century.
It has been restored and converted into a Youth Hostel, craft workshops and shop.
The main entrance is paved with a mosaic that celebrates the amalgamation of the Coalport, Swansea and Nantgarw brands. Coalport china was fashionable from about 1830.
