Brentwood School (Brentwood)

Brentwood School is a famous public school at Brentwood in Essex.

It is situated close to the town centre, in Shenfield Road and Ingrave Road.

Of the original school buildings, built in brick in 1568, only the outer walls and a doorway are still standing.

Parts of the complex are 18th century, while parts are 19th century and the main building, dated 1910, is by the Essex architect F. Chancellor.

Perhaps the most famous old boy was Douglas Adams, author of "The Hitch Hiker`s Guide to the Galaxy".
