St. Michael`s Church (Amberley)

St. Michael`s is the parish church of the Sussex village of Amberley.

It is situated at the end of the charming village street, and close to Amberley Castle walls.

The church dates back to the Norman period, the outstanding chancel arch being constructed about 1100. Nearby are wall paintings dating from the late 12th century.

In the churchyard are buried the artist Edward Stott and sculptor Francis Derwent Wood.
