Colin Crosby Heritage Tours

Wickford

Wickford is a small town in Essex, 3 miles from Basildon, and on the upper reaches of the River Crouch, which becomes tidal a few miles downstream at Battlesbridge.

Since the 1950s, Wickford has been to a large extent submerged by Basildon New Town, along with such places as Billericay, Laindon, Pitsea and Vange.

A branch line from Wickford Station takes passengers deep into the heart of the Dengie Hundred, to Burnham-on-Crouch and Southminster.

Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby is available to lead Guided Walks around Wickford for groups.
