Washford

Washford is a village in Somerset, on the edge of Exmoor and 2 miles from Watchet.

St. Mary`s Church is shared between the Church of England and the Methodists.

Cleeve Abbey, founded for Cistercian monks in 1188, is just outside the village. The mediaeval gatehouse and some domestic buildings survive.

Tropiquaria, containing fish and animals, is housed in a radio station built in 1933.

Washford has a station on the preserved West Somerset Railway.
