Trentham

Trentham is a village in Staffordshire, on the outskirts of Stoke-on-Trent.

Trentham Gardens is a hugely popular pleasure park, on an estate formerly owned by the Duke of Sutherland, where there was a palatial 17th century mansion. There are formal gardens, a lake, woodlands, gardens and shopping village.

The church was designed by Charles Barry.

There is now a Monkey Forest in the grounds.

King Wulfhere of Mercia had a palace here in the 7th century.
