Tilton-on-the-Hill
Tilton-on-the Hill is a village in High Leicestershire, 9 miles from Uppingham.
It is the highest village in the county, about 700 feet above sea level.
The mediaeval parish church is constructed of the local ironstone. It has a fine tower and collection of grotesques. There is a tall mediaeval cross shaft in the churchyard.
