Stocksfield
Stocksfield is a small town in Northumberland, 6 miles from Hexham.
Close to the River Tyne, it developed when a railway station was built on the line between Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Carlisle.
Across the river is the ancient settlement of Bywell, with a castle and two Anglo-Saxon churches.
