Sandgate

Sandgate is a seaside town in Kent, 2 miles from Folkestone, with a pebble beach.

Sandgate Castle was one of the coastal defences built in the 16th century by Henry VIII. Within its walls there is a Martello Tower.

H. G. Wells wrote "Kipps" and "The History of Mr. Polly" while living at Spade House.
