Rowlands Castle

Rowlands Castle is a village in Hampshire, 3 miles from Havant, and on the border with Sussex.

It has a long village green, with attractive Georgian and Victorian houses.

Only the earthworks remain from the Norman castle, which acquired its name in honour of the French hero Roland.

George VI came here to review the troops prior to D - Day.
