Peene

Peene is a hamlet in Kent, 5 miles from Folkestone.

The Elham Valley Line ran through the hamlet, but closed in the 1950s.

There was never a station at Peene, but the outstanding Peene Railway Museum has been established here. Has a fine collection of railway exhibits, including a model of the nearby entrance to the Channel Tunnel, and a working model of the Elham Valley Line.

There is also an excellent and imaginative craft centre and tea shop in a reconstructed mediaeval barn.
