Overton

Overton is a former mining village in West Yorkshire, 2 miles from Horbury.

It is at the heart of what has come to be known as the Rhubarb Triangle. There is still plenty of rhubarb grown in the area, but this activity reached its peak when the coal mines were at full stretch.

The National Coal Mining Museum is based at the Caphouse and Hope Collieries, with a railway linking the two, and underground tours led by former miners.
