Housesteads

Housesteads is a site in Northumberland, 3 miles from Bardon Mill.

The remains of the Roman fort of Vercovicium sit on a well preserved section of Hadrian`s Wall, with the civilian town that grew up beside it.

The site includes a museum.

Housesteads is partly administered by English Heritage, and partly by the National Trust. It is the most popular site on Hadrian`s Wall, which rises to over 1,000 feet.
