Heligan
Heligan is an estate in Cornwall, 2 miles from Mevagissey.
The estate was owned by the Tremayne family. After the Great War, which took so many young men here as elsewhere, the gardens fell into a state of neglect.
A group of local enthusiasts, led by Tim Smit, decided in the 1990s to restore them to their former glory.
As The Lost Gardens of Heligan, they now form one of Cornwall`s major tourist attractions.
