Fleckney

Fleckney is a village, largely industrial, in Leicestershire, a few miles from Leicester.

St. Nicholas Church, though having parts dating from the Norman period, was rebuilt by C. Kirk in 1870, using some of the mediaeval stone.

There are several hosiery factories which were established in the 19th century, and a number of associated workers' houses.

The village is close to the Grand Union Canal, and also to the 100 mile footpath known as the Leicestershire Round.

Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby is available to lead Guided Walks around Fleckney for groups.
