Davington

Davington is a former village in Kent, which is now effectively a suburb of Faversham.

The partly 12th century parish church was the church of Davington Priory, founded in 1153 for Benedictine nuns.

At the Dissolution of the Monasteries, in 1535, the domestic buildings now known as Davington Priory were converted to private use, and are still in private hands.

An impressive brick gateway from the 17th century has been retained on a modern housing estate.

Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby is available to lead Guided Walks around Davington for groups.
