Chirk

Chirk is a small town in North Wales, close to the border with England and 5 miles from Oswestry. Its Welsh name is Y Waun.

The town stands at the gateway to the picturesque Vale of Ceiriog.

Chirk Castle dates back to the 12th century, and has been in continuous occupation ever since.

Offa`s Dyke runs through the parkland of the castle.

Chirk Aqueduct, constructed by Thomas Telford, carries the Shropshire Union Canal high over the River Ceiriog.
