Carlton Scroop is a village in Lincolnshire, 6 miles from Grantham and on the long distance Viking Way.
The Scroop suffix is due to its ownership in the Middle Ages by the powerful Scrope family.
St. Nicholas Church is partly Norman. The spire fell in 1630, and the church was rebuilt in two years.
