Barton-in-the-Beans

Barton-in-the-Beans is a village in Leicestershire, 7 miles from Ashby-de-la-Zouch.

The name harks back to the old Leicestershire nickname of "beanbellies", as outsiders believed it was all they ate.

Samuel Deacon`s 19th century clock workshop was moved in 1951 to the Newarke Houses Museum at Leicester.

The Baptist Chapel was built in the 19th century, and replaced an earlier building where Deacon preached.
