Barling

Barling, properly known as Barling Magna, is an Essex village close to the tidal River Roach, and 3 miles from Shoeburyness.

All Saints Church has a fine, sturdy West tower and weatherboarded spire.

The village was given by Edward the Confessor to the Chapter of St. Pauls Cathedral.

Barling Parva has long disappeared, but is represented by Jail Farm.

Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby is available to lead Guided Walks around Barling for groups.
