Ascot
Ascot is a town in Berkshire, 6 miles from Windsor.
It is well known for the racecourse. Racing began here, close to Windsor, in 1711 under the patronage of Queen Anne.
Royalty still attend the main meeting, known as Royal Ascot, in June, being driven in carriages in procession at the start.
