The Lord Mayor`s Show
I made a special trip to London recently, to see the Lord Mayor`s Show.
I had seen parts of it a few times before, but always on days when I was engaged with leading Guided Walks.
I gave myself a vantage point outside St. Pauls Cathedral, but unfortunately it rained heavily, so I did not see the procession at its best.
But in spite of the weather, the Lord Mayor`s Show was still a fabulous occasion, with its inimitable pageantry.
Afterwards, I went into St. Paul`s, to watch a performance of Saint Saens` "Carnival of the Animals", with Ogden Nash`s words.
