Re-hallowing of Launde Abbey

Anne and I went recently, with some friends, to the re-hallowing of Launde Abbey.

This splendid house is hidden away in the folds of High Leicestershire, and is not easy to get to. This makes it ideal for its present day use, as a retreat, used by the Dioceses of Leicester and Peterborough.

It was an Augustinian priory until the Dissolution of the Monasteries, when Thomas Cromwell made a note saying that he wanted it for himself.
