Film Show at Claremont

I spent an enjoyable evening at Claremont Methodist Church in the Leicester district of Belgrave recently, watching a collection of short railway films.

My wife Anne arrived at half time, so we had the rare experience of being out together for half an evening!

The evening was arranged by Neville Mays, for whom it is an annual event.

We saw films about the behind the scenes work of a stationmaster in the 1960s, and about the famous Brush works at Loughborough. But the best known was the film showing the London to Brighton run in a few minutes.

Thanks to Neville for again arranging such a nostalgic programme.
