Derek Underwood at Cricket Society
I went to another meeting of the Leicestershire Cricket Society recently. This time it was held at the Saffron Lane Working Men`s Club in Leicester, as the usual venue at Grace Road was unavailable.
The speaker was Derek Underwood, slow left arm bowler who played many times for Kent and England. Derek regaled us with tales of his long and illustrious career.
We are very fortunate in Leicester to have such a thriving cricket society, where we can still talk among friends about our beloved game in the close season.
